The Concert will be held in the Theatre, Hong Kong City Hall. The details of the performances are as follows:

SSCPS Musical, SSC Alumni Choir & Wind Ensemble Performance & SSC Original Musical – Out of Place

SSCPS Concert Band, Orchestra and Chevaliers Performance & Musical – The Door to Happiness (Ticket order placed through SSCPS only)

Time: 2:15 p.m.

SSC String Orchestra, Choir, Symphonic Band and Chinese Music Ensemble Performance & SSC Original Musical – Out of Place

Ticket Order Form: please fill in and return the completed Form and a crossed cheque of the following no later than Tuesday, 31st May 2016.

NOTICE is hereby given THAT Annual General Meeting of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited will be held on FRIDAY 26 September 2014 at 7:30pm (registration from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm) at King’s Cuisine Restaurant, 6/F., Windsor House, 311 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong for the purpose of transacting the following business :

 

  1. To approve the minutes of Annual General Meeting of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited held on 23 August 2013;
  2. To receive the President’s report of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited for 2013 to 2014;
  3. To adopt the audited accounts of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited for the period from  8 August 2012 (date of incorporation) to 30 June 2013 and from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014;
  4. To elect the President, Vice-Presidents, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer and Members of the Executive Committee for 2014 to 2015;
  5. To appoint auditors of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited for the period from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015; and
  6. Any other business.

SSC Alumni Happy Hour with live guitar perfomance

Thursday, October 24 at 6:30pm
Boom gallery café, 48 Sai Street, Sheung Wan

Entrance fee: $100 includes two standard drinks ( non-alcoholic drinks, beer or house wine); Free snack will be provided. Can host around 30 ppl.

Theme: A night with live guitar performance, friends and drinks in an artsy environment. Alumni Derek Lai, graduated from Musicians Institute Hollywood USA, majoring Guitar Performance, will perform and in the meantime teach a few songs which are easy to handle and interest to learn. Let’s chat, drink, enjoy, and learn a few notes.

Boom gallery café is also run by another SSC Alumni Ada Wong.

New SSCAA Membership Structure

In June, we conducted a survey regarding the membership structure reform. Based on the opinion that we have received, the majority view is supportive of simplifying the membership structure. With such support, the Executive Committee has resolved to adopt a new membership structure with effect from 1 September 2013.

Update on the Pavilion at St. Stephen’s College Preparatory School

As a result of continued high demand for quality education offered by St. Stephen’s College Preparatory School (“SSCPS”), a proposal has been put forward by the College Council to construct a new building to allow additional intake of students in the future (“Proposal”).

The College Council has identified two potential sites and has engaged a professional architect firm to conduct a survey to assess the suitability of each of the sites.  The report recommended the site where the St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Pavilion (“Pavilion”) currently resides as the most suitable location.

SSCAA would like to take this opportunity to present the background of the Pavilion and also share the plans of the College council on the Proposal:

  • Ownership of the land where the Pavilion is built belongs to the Government.
  • The right to use the land has been granted by the Government to the St. Stephen’s College for school-related purpose.
  • With the initiation and support of some dedicated alumni, funds were raised for the construction of the Pavilion with the objective of having a dedicated venue with facilities for alumni to enjoy.
  • As a result of normal deterioration of the building structure over the years and concerns over security, SSCAA has given the operation of the Pavilion to the SSCPS in early 1994. SSCAA members continue to be able to use the barbeque pits at the Pavilion after the handover of the operations of the Pavilion.
  • However, the cost of maintaining the premise remains significant and the building has not been fully utilized.
  • Together with the professional architect report’s recommendation, the College council has proposed to demolish the existing building and construct a new building to cater for more students intake.
  • While SSCAA is supportive of the idea of expanding the school’s facilities to accommodate more students in the future to join our family, we have also expressed that some alumni may have concerns on choosing the Pavilion site.
  • We have requested that recognition be made to alumni that have generously made donations to the construction of the Pavilion, and that we hope there could be other facilities provided by the College made available for members of the SSCAA to enjoy.
  • The College has acknowledged this concern and will include an alumni gallery in the new building for this purpose.

I hope that this clarifies the background of the Pavilion and also provides information on the future plan of the College with regards to the site.  We will continue to provide updates on the development and we welcome alumni who would like to share their comments to email sscaa@sscaa.org

新知舊遇攝影比賽紀念活動為第一次由現屆舊生會及現屆學生會聯手合辨及由Canon Hongkong Company Limited / 佳能香港有限公司全力贊助的攝影比賽活動，主題為聖士提反書院內的一切（包括人物，記事及風境）。

是次活動邀請所有就讀學生，教師及曾就讀舊生親身感受及懷緬在校園內的一切的人和事, 作為慶祝聖士提反書院110週年暨聖士提反書院附屬小學75週年。
