To: All members of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited, all alumni of St.

Stephen’s College and all alumni of St. Stephen’s College Preparatory School.

NOTICE is hereby given THAT Annual General Meeting of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited will be held on FRIDAY 6 October 2017 at 7:30pm (registration from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm) at King’s Cuisine Restaurant, 6/F, Windsor House, 311 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong for the purpose of transacting the following business:

  1. To approve the minutes of Annual General Meeting of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited held on 28 October 2016 (at Appendix I);

  2. To receive the President’s report of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited for 2016 to 2017;

  3. To receive the audited accounts of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited for the period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017

  4. To confirm, by special resolution, the amendments to the Article of Associations of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited approved by special resolution at the Annual General Meeting held on 28 October 2016 to:

(a) change the terms of office of the President, Vice Presidents, Honourary Treasurer and Honourary Secretary from the Annual General Meeting from which they were elected to the second Annual General Meeting thereafter; and

(b) make other textual amendments to align its text with the enactment of the new Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622);

  1. To elect the Members of the Executive Committee for 2017 to 2018;

  2. To appoint Lee, Au & Co as the auditor of St. Stephen’s College Alumni Association Limited for the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018; and

  3. Any other business.

Memorial service for the late Principal Mr. YIP

 

Memorial service for the late Principal Mr. YIP

After further discussion with SSC, please be informed that a memorial service for the late Principal, Mr. Luke YIP, will be held at the St. John’s Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on 20 July 2017 (Thursday), being the earliest date and time that St. John’s Cathedral is available.

Invitation for articles

SSC is preparing a memorial booklet dedicated to Mr. YIP. Alumni are invited to contribute articles to be included in the booklet. The details are:

  1. either in English (not more than 400 words) or in Chinese (not more than 300 words);
  2. with author’s name, forms and year of attending SSC;
  3. in Microsoft Word format (for the editorial purpose); and
  4. send by email to either SSC (ssc@ssc.edu.hk) or SSCAA (sscaa@sscaa.org) by coming Friday (14 July 2017).

RIP our beloved Principal Mr. Luke Yip

RIP our beloved Principal Mr. Luke Yip

SSCAA is saddened to learn the passing away of former Principal, Mr. Luke YIP, at Toronto on 5 July 2017. Mr. YIP was the Principal of SSC for 25 years between 1974 and 1999. He was the longest serving Principal in SSC’s history. Mr. YIP’s visions on education have shaped many of us into what we are now. He had inspired a lot of teachers as well. The SSC community is honoured to have Mr. YIP’s leading SSC and Mr. YIP will always be missed by all of us. Our condolences go to Mr. YIP’s family and friends. SSC and SSCAA are working jointly to arrange a memorial service in Hong Kong and will update further on the arrangement.

SSCAA is saddened to learn the passing away of Mr Derek TOO, our former SSC Principal between 1999 and 2004. Mr TOO’s leadership and his passion on education had inspired a lot of teachers and students while he was our Principal. Our alumni community is honoured to have Mr TOO’s leading SSC. Our condolences go to Mr TOO’s family and friends. Mr TOO’s memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on 17 June 2017 at St. John Cathedral at Garden Road.
