The 2007 SSCAA AGM report described 2007-8 as an important transformation year when we would have the opportunity to realize the objectives we set out in our strategic plan. In this report, we are pleased to share  our Association’s achievements in delivering the promised values.

The Alumni Association and fellow Prep School alumni posted a congratulatory ad in today’s Sing Tao News, Education Section, page F2.

The new school complex of SSCPS was named the Ho Leung Kit Ting Building. The article was featured in Ming Pao News on Wednesday, 23 April 2008.

Valid “member” of the Alumni Association is eligible to apply for access to the SSC Swimming Pool, for the 2008 swimming season (May to October).
Please complete the attached form and submit per instructed on the form. The College will validate your Alumni Association’s Membership Number before processing.

SSCAA is considering the possibility to send a 2nd Dragon Boat Team to the annual Stanley Dragon Boat Race. The 2nd team will be an All-Female team, and we need just 6 more old girls to make it happens !  Please contact sscaa@sscaa.org

Miss Stella Chiu is the recipient of the inaugural 2007 Young Professional Award.  This is a very prestigious award given by the Association of Professional Engineers in British Columbia (APEGBC) in Canada on an annual basis.  It is part of the APEGBC President’s Awards (six categories) which are BC’s top awards for professional engineers and professional geoscientists to recognize outstanding professional, technical and community contributions by its members. The awards program was started in 1965 and there have been about 230 recipients over the last 42 years. The Young Professional Award is a new category in 2007. This award recognizes exceptional achievements by the recipient in three key areas: work-related achievements, service to the profession and service to the community. The recipient also must be no older than 35 years of age on the date of the award presentation. Nominations are submitted without the knowledge of the candidates.

Wong-sir is a prominent Richmond artist, famous for his pottery. He is featured in a local newspaper on 30 November 2007.
